Shayne and Melanie have bred, owned and raced their own greyhounds in Queensland since 2001. Their dogs are known in the greyhound racing world as 'The Stanley Dogs', with all of their dogs having the suffix of 'Stanley' in their race names.

Domestic boarding for pet dogs is also available. Stanley Pets can cater for dogs of all sizes. Your pet dog can have a home away from home in a large grassed and landscaped yard with a besser block kennel, or be spoilt and pampered in the fully contained kennel close to the house for lots of love and attention.

Whelping

The belief of Shayne and Melanie Parker is that a greyhound should be given every opportunity to reach their racing potential through each step of their preparation.

That quality care begins early at Stanley Pets Boarding Kennels, from the whelping kennel.

Whelping facilities and services include:

• Large private whelping kennels.
• Split system air conditioning for temperature control.
• Vet on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Connected outdoor area for hygienic emptying and recreation.
• Located close to house for maximum care 24 hours a day.

It is recommended to bring the whelping bitch to the kennels a couple weeks prior to her due date to allow her to settle in and familiarize herself with her surroundings and carers.

Rearing

Pre-Training & Training

Just 1 week of Pre Training a few times through your dogs rearing stage will make a world of difference when you start to train your dog for the race track, saving you and your dog a lot of frustration.

Pre Training includes:

• Kennel training in large fully air conditioned kennels
• Daily walks around the 40 acre property, learning how to lead
• 1 on 1 handling to instill confidence and discipline

Shayne Parker has raced his own greyhounds since the 1990's, starting in NSW and later moving to Queensland in 2001.

He continues to race a few of his own bred and/or reared pups as well as a few select dogs for other owners.
